#15 Innovative Business Case: DMINOR (BE)

  • Pharmaceutical innovations tailored to improve biogas production efficiency
  • Delivering a quick return on investment and high profitability for agri-food business
  • Improved potential for this circular and renewable energy source

Innovative business ideas can thrive in the most unexpected ways and environments… and this is the story of how high-tech pharmaceutical engineering processes  have been reimagined to improve biogas plant efficiency. Ingenious!

When a farmer’s large biogas   plant was not performing, he reached out to his friend used to the precise environment of laboratories and clean rooms. The resulting monitoring techniques managed to increase outputs by 12% - generating a return on investment in just six months. This new field of monitoring, analysis and optimisation led to the creation of DMINOR in 2014, which became an official brand three years later.

Today, the business offers a tailor made performance plan and selects associated equipment for existing or new biogas plants, mapping energy and material flows to optimise their operation process. From farmers to sewage or waste treatment plant manager, this process of valorising agricultural waste, avoiding green house gases and producing renewable energy attracts a wide range of clients in Belgium. In the near future, DMINOR plans to expand its offer to match new client demand.

DMINOR has 15 highly skilled employees working on both pharma and agricultural applications, supporting local economy and rural job creation . They design and install equipment to improve production processes and also selling equipment for biogas plants thanks to a partnership with a French company (PRODEVAL).
