Webinar: Biofertilisers in the New Circular Economy
On 29 June 2020, RUBIZMO partner Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias is organising a webinar on the place of biofertilisers in the circular economy, ahead of the International Day of Cooperative, that will take place on 4 July this year and will focus on the role of cooperatives in climate action.
There is no doubt that agriculture can play a major role in climate change mitigation, by sequestering carbon in the soil, and thus increasing organic matter. For this to happen nonetheless, it is necessary to convert agricultural and livestock residues into quality organic fertilisers that can help reducing the use of mineral fertilisers. Cooperatives have a fundamental role to help achieving this task, which the webinar will try to analyse and explain. During the webinar, various cooperatives will be sharing their experiences focusing on the conversion of agricultural or industrial waste into fertilisers. The speakers will include José Carlos Anguix, Compost technician at Champinter; Sebastián Trinidad, Complus manager; Francisco Sanmartín, manager of Central Lechera Asturiana CLAS; and Jan van der Blom, doctor entomologist from the Department of Production Techniques at Coexphal, and the webinar will be moderated by Adolfo Peña, deputy director at ETSIAM, the Higher Technical School of Agricultural and Forestry Engineers at the University of Córdoba.
